CIRCADIAN Light Becomes AIA Continuing Education Provider

STONEHAM, Mass., June 5, 2018 --- CIRCADIAN Light is pleased to offer Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW) credits to members of The American Institute of Architects (AIA).

Health, Safety, and Welfare courses endorsed by AIA focus on design concepts that safeguard the public on construction and designs that focus on issues such as lighting, construction systems, sustainability, and adaptation.

CIRCADIAN Light’s first HSW course offering, “Circadian Lighting for Workplaces: Protecting Health and Improving Productivity.” will educate architects and lighting designers on circadian lighting and the key differences between the day, evening, and nighttime impacts of the bioactive blue content on circadian rhythms, human health, and productivity.

The course will educate architects and lighting designers on:

  • The science and impact of blue light during the day and night on human health and performance
  • New standards for light at night, including UL verification for having less the 2% blue content at night, and its implication on color tuning products
  • Specifications for spectral content of lighting by time of day that have emerged from evidence based medical research
  • Research of human subjects utilizing spectrally engineered light that regulates the amount of blue light by time, location and season to entrain circadian rhythms, protect human health and boost productivity
